Happy holidays!
I saw a very negative comment the other day regarding an ad that said "Happy Holidays." Now, I am bothered by individuals that cause religious references to be removed from public places, but we should be the better person and not threaten to boycott when a company is trying to be inclusive in their communications. Don't get me wrong, I defend my right to express my beliefs, but I won't force them on someone else. I'd rather come from the other side, by appealing to people and letting my life (with it's many flaws) be my witness. The Peanuts comic strip and the Narnia books are two examples of that philosophy. Anyway, that's just my opinion. And before I forget - Merry Christmas!
New Comics: 10 new comics this month. 6 are here and 4 more are on the site. If any of the panels on the right are hard to read, click on the picture to see it full size.
Feedback: Keep your suggestions coming. Do you have a funny story about valentine's day? I'm trying to work ahead to fit with newsletter print and mail schedules.
Friends of Bob:
Thanks again to everyone to has used Finding Elim in their websites and newsletters! December's most popular comic was probably the Charlie Brown and Linus one. Not surprising, considering the popularity of the Peanuts characters.
Links of the month:
Fans of Narnia rejoice! The trailer for Prince Caspian has ben released! I'm really excited because while I am a big C.S. Lewis fan, I was afraid this book would make the least interesting movie. Instead, I'm now hoping for an even better movie than the first. Be warned if you haven't read the book the trailer is spoils some otherwise nice surprises. Watch it here.
For a kind of dark short film with a positive message, check out More. It's a claymation mix of Brazil and 1984. A visual warning about the search for happiness through success.
Finally, another short (10 min.) film with no dialog, and one of my favorites. Flat Life is a little view into the mundane and yet bizarrely intertwined lives of 4 apartment, or "flat" dwellers. Even though the main activity is easily followed throughout the film, I can almost guarantee you'll want to watch it more than once.
Do you have any good links that you think I should feature? Drop me a line.
Have a great month!
